~ABOUT ME~
I grew up hearing classical music, and dove in head first when I finally tried out guitar. They way the music fit together across the neck helped me see into things I had only heard. I earned a degree in Music Education from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. While there I worked with students with special needs at a K-12 program nearby and fell in love with this work. After school I lived in San Diego, job-coaching adults with disabilities, and since returning to Tennessee have designed and taught music theory and production courses, and am always learning new things!

APPROACH TO LEARNING
My teaching revolves around each student as a unique person with their own aspirations and ideas. I help them find ways to realize these and grow their creative confidence along the way.

Students will learn through practical lessons in chordal and melodic playing, with theory and aural training as foundations for real understanding.

We will explore numerous styles and traditions, experience writing, collaborating and performing, and continue to find personal connection to the music we hear and create.
